Sundie Seefried Partner Colorado Credit Union CEO
“Now is the time to protect the success of banking the industry to date. We are not in the secure position necessary to continue without interruption to banking services. Processing in excess of $100 million a month requires me to prioritize protective measures and work with PH&S. Together, we will work to address new risks of processing not only cannabis funds nationally but the ability to bank and clear safe and sound processes for all financial institutions so they can take in Canadian and other international funds.”
Sundie Seefried is the CEO/President of Partner Colorado Credit Union located in Denver Colorado. She has served in the Credit Union industry since 1983 and as CEO since 2001. She holds a Bachelors in Business Management from the University of Maryland and an MBA in Finance from Regis University.
Her focus at Partner Colorado has been to establish a culture of service and sales excellence to better serve the membership and, under the board’s direction and her staff’s assistance, she led the organization to win a top 10 placement for 8 consecutive years between 2005 and 2012 as a Best Place to Work in Denver.
Seefried also created Partner Colorado Credit Union Foundation to grant scholarships to Colorado students in need and to date they have granted in excess of $350,000 to students and community charities. The foundation is now managed by employees of the credit union who raise and grant all funds.
Instead of heading into retirement at the end of 2014, she designed a full scope Cannabis Banking Program that has withstood the scrutiny of Federal and State Regulators and has realized great success in terms of removing cash from the communities in Colorado to make Colorado a safer place to live. She now banks in excess of a 50 percent market share of the Colorado cannabis industry that includes both licensed cannabis and ancillary businesses serving the industry.
To assist other financial institutions interested in serving this emerging market, she recently authored the book ‘Navigating Safe Harbor – Cannabis Banking in Uncertain Times’ which is available at SafeHarborPrivateBanking.com. She has also packaged her program as a turnkey solution for other financial institutions to engage in banking the industry.
